Beth: Come here and look! I printed out my natal chart off a website.
Jason: Does it have any better news about your marriage prospects?
Beth: It says that my Venus is in Pisces, so I'm a very romantic person.
Jason: Well, you do like romantic music. Does it say anything different than the Chinese one?
Beth: It says I'm not scholarly because my Mercury is in Gemini.
Jason: But that's totally different than the Chinese one.
Beth: Well, they can't both be right, can they?
Jason: Maybe you should look at an Indian Vedic chart.
Beth: No, that would just confuse me more.

讲解：

1. 对话中，Beth把自己命运的星盘打印了出来。natal表示“诞生的”，natal chart就表示命盘。Beth这次是用西方的星座学来算自己的命盘，那么这次对她的婚姻前途有什么更好的说法吗？

2. prospects表示“前景，前程，成功的机会”，比如说，The job has no prospects.这工作没有什么前途。也就是The job offers little possibility of promotion. 这个工作没有什么晋升的机会。

3. 那么对话中说的marriage prospects就是指“婚姻前途”。Beth说她的金星Venus落在了双鱼座，所以她是一个非常浪漫的人。

4. Beth命盘中的金星落在了双鱼座，说明她是一个非常浪漫的人，Jason觉得挺准的，因为平常Beth就喜欢浪漫的音乐。

5. 不过Beth命盘中的水星落在双子座上，表示她不是一个学者型的人，这跟她的中国命盘算出来的不一样了。Beth也不知道到底哪一个比较准了，不可能两个都是正确的吧。Jason建议她也许应该去看印度的吠陀星盘，就是Indian Vedic chart，是印度民族的传统占星学，强调宿命观，研究方向在于个人的名誉、运气和财富等有关，和西方占星强调个人的性格及天赋大不相同。所以Beth觉得还是不要算了，这样会让她更加困惑到底该信哪一个了。

6. confuse表示“把某人弄糊涂，使迷惑，使为难”，比如说，They confused me by asking so many questions at the same time. 他们同时提出那么多问题把我搞糊涂了。His unexpected arrival confused all our plans. 他突然的到来把我们所有计划都打乱了。
